On March 30, 2025, Prof. Dr. Poramate Manoonpong delivered an engaging talk at the Thailand Science Camp #17, held at the National Science Museum Thailand (NSM). Speaking to enthusiastic high school students from across the country, he introduced the groundbreaking research conducted at our laboratory in the field of bio-inspired robotics.
The session not only highlighted our innovative work but also served to inspire young minds to pursue careers in science and technology. Prof. Dr. Manoonpong shared insights into how nature inspires robotic design and the importance of curiosity, creativity, and dedication in becoming a scientist.
As part of the event, we showcased two of our lab’s cutting-edge robots:
- Back Mirror – our stick insect-inspired walking robot
- Salalom – our gecko-inspired climbing robot
The robots were operated by our Ph.D. student Mr. Thirawat Chuthong and postdoctoral researcher Dr. Worasuchad Haomachai, who also interacted with the students. They discussed the design and function of the robots, answered questions about ongoing research, and shared information about our laboratory facilities and opportunities.
