On 27th April 2026, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Paisarn Muneesawang, Computer Engineering Department, Manidol university and Assoc. Prof. Suchart Yammen, Faculty of Engineering, Naresuan University to our Robotics Studio, ARIA, and WAI rooms.
During the visit, Prof. Poramate Manoonpong (Professor of Bio-inspired Robotics) delivered an engaging presentation introducing the laboratory’s ongoing research and innovations in bio-inspired robotics. He showcased several robotic platforms inspired by nature, including the stick insect robot and the cockroach robot, which demonstrate adaptive and efficient locomotion strategies.
In addition to bio-inspired systems, the presentation also featured industrial robots, such as drones and inspection robots, highlighting their applications in real-world environments. Furthermore, the session concluded with an introduction to medical robotics, focusing on an exoskeleton robot designed to support rehabilitation and human movement assistance.
Moreover, our menbers presented the research facilities available in our laboratory, including motion capture cameras for accurately tracking robot movements and a treadmill system designed for conducting exoskeleton studies. These facilities enable precise measurement and analysis of locomotion dynamics, supporting both robotic and human-interactive experiments.”
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to share insights into the lab’s interdisciplinary work bridging biology, robotics, and human-centered design.
