On Ocotober 14-18, 2024, the robotics team of IST-VISTEC, including Mr. Kongkiat Rothomphiwat, Dr. Worasuchad Haomachai, Mr. Arthicha Srisuchinnawong, Mr. Run Janna, and Prof. Poramate Manoonpong, attended the IROS 2024 Conference at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi ,UAE.

The theme of IROS 2024 at this time is “Robotics for Sustainable Development“. It focuses on highlighting the role of robotics in achieving sustainability goals.
At IROS 2024,
- Mr. Kongkiat Rothomphiwatgave gave a presentation entitled “Robust Precision Landing of a Quadrotor with Online Temporal Scaling Adaptation of Dynamic Movement Primitives” (16 Oct),
- Dr. Worasuchad Haomachai gave a presentation entitled “Transition Gradient from Standing to Traveling Waves for Energy-Efficient Slope Climbing of a Gecko-Inspired Robot” (16 Oct),
- Prof. Poramate Manoonpong gave a presentation entitled “S-BUN: Soft Bifunctional Utility Module for Robot Sensing and Signaling” (17 Oct),
- Mr. Arthicha Srisuchinnawong gave a presentation entitled “Unsupervised Multiple Proactive Behavior Learning of Mobile Robots for Smooth and Safe Navigation” (18 Oct), and
- Mr. Run Janna gave a presentation entitled “Online Adaptive Impedance Control with Gravity Compensation for an Interactive Lower-Limb Exoskeleton” (18 Oct).

Prof. Poramate Manoonpong was also invited to serve as chair and co-chair of Robot Motion Planning I, Medical Robotics IV, and Bio-Inspired Robots, and Bio-Inspired Robots sessions.

“In Abu Dhabi’s halls, with tech on display,
VISTEC’s robots stole the show that day,
Climbing, landing, learning—a brilliant bunch,
They paved the way—then asked for more lunch!“
