The morning session included presentations by visitors from Kookmin University in South Korea and Ritsumeikan University in Japan.
- Professor Baek-Kyu Cho presented a lecture on “The Mechanism of Legged Robots in the Era of Physical AI.”
- Professor Sang-Ho Hyon presented a lecture on “Challenges in Developing Modular Hydraulic Robots as Versatile Tools for Heavy-Duty Applications.”
The KMU young scholar research talks focused on key areas such as the design mechanisms of legged robots, waterproofing in robotics, and wheeled-legged robot locomotion.
The afternoon session included presentations by VISTEC.
- Professor Poramate Manoonpong presented a lecture on “Bio-Inspired Physical AI: How Nature Teaches Us to Build Intelligent Machines.”
- The VISTEC young of Robotics scholars presented talks on the 7 Wonders within the ARIA Lab: Bio-inspired Robotics, Soft Robotics, Medical Robotics, Industrial Robotics, Inspection Robotics, and Cognitive Robotics.
The second day began with short talks in the morning by KMU young scholars on waterproofing in robotics and reinforcement learning (RL) in legged robot locomotion.
This was followed by a tour of the ARIA and WAI labs. The final session of the day was dedicated to research discussions and collaboration planning, including the identification of co-research topics between VISTEC and students from Kookmin University. These students participated in group discussions based on the presented research to formulate plans for new research initiatives.
