Attending CLAWAR 2024 conference, Germany

Our team participated in the 27th issue of the International Conference Series on Climbing and Walking Robots and the Support Technologies for Mobile Machines (CLAWAR 2024), held from September 4–6, 2024, at the Fraunhofer Center in Kaiserslautern, Germany. We presented our work, shared knowledge with fellow attendees, and gained valuable insights into the latest trends in robotics. Additionally, we had the opportunity to meet new colleagues from various countries, fostering connections and expanding our professional network.

During our visit, we also had the privilege of touring the Robotics Research Lab (RRLAB), founded by Prof. Dr. Karsten Berns at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU). The lab’s research focuses on developing complex autonomous robotic systems, such as wheel-driven indoor and outdoor vehicles, as well as climbing robots. We learned about their cutting-edge work on autonomous cars and tractors, including navigation and path-planning capabilities that leverage human activity. Furthermore, we had the exciting opportunity to meet their humanoid robot, Emah, and learn about ongoing research in human-robot interaction and bipedal walking.
