Research Talk and Visiting Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan

On 4 December 2025, Prof. Dr. Poramate Manoonpong, together with Dr. Jettanan Homchanthanakul and Mr. Theerawath Phetpoon from the Research Center for Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Automation (ARIA), School of Information Science and Technology (IST), Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), visited the Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan.
The team received a warm welcome from Asst. Prof. Shunsuke Shigaki of the National Institute of Informatics (NII), a long-standing MOU collaborator and an alumnus of the Institute of Science Tokyo. He facilitated visits to Hatanaka Lab, Tsukagoshi Lab, and Kurabayashi Lab.

During the visit, Prof. Poramate Manoonpong delivered a presentation titled “Nature-Inspired Machine Intelligence.” The talk highlighted how biological principles are driving advancements in robotics and intelligent systems, ultimately supporting the development of more capable and adaptive machines.

At the end of the day, Asst. Prof. Shunsuke Shigaki also brought the team to his lab in Kanagawa for further discussions on ongoing collaboration. He additionally provided updates on the internship progress of Mr. Theerawath Phetpoon, who is currently participating in the exchange internship program between VISTEC and NII.
