On November 13, 2024, the Robotics Lab at IST (VISTEC), led by Prof. Poramate Manoonpong, along with Dr. Harn Sison, Dr. Jattanan Homchanthanakul, Dr. Chaicharn Akkawutvanich, and Dr. Worasuchad Haomachai, visited Mahidol University to discuss research collaborations with faculty members from the Electrical Engineering Department. The meeting included Dr. Supun Tiptipakorn, Asst. Prof. Zeng Lertmanorat, Dr. Phattanard Phattanasri, Assoc. Prof. Ittiphong Leevongwat, and Dr. Siwapon Charoenchai.
In the afternoon, the Robotics Lab team delivered a talk titled “Nature’s Intelligence for Physical AI: From Biology to AI and Robotics” to students and professionals from industry. This presentation highlighted how nature-inspired approaches are pushing the boundaries of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, enriching our understanding of adaptive, resilient, and intelligent systems.
The Robotics Lab team also met with Prof. Paisarn Muneesawang from the Computer Engineering Department and Dr. Eakkachai Warinsiriruk from the Industrial Engineering Department for further research discussions. They concluded their visit with a tour of FlexLab, a specialized center focused on flexible manufacturing systems and welding and joining of materials.
