On September 24, 2026, we were delighted to welcome students from the Kla Mai… Fai Roo Project, 21st Edition (2026), organized by Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), along with their teachers and instructors, to the ARIA Room of the Bio-inspired Robotics Lab.
The workshop provided an opportunity for secondary and vocational students to explore the world of innovation and unleash their creativity through hands-on learning and inspiring research demonstrations.
During the visit, Dr. Jettanan Homchanthanakul (Postdoctoral Researcher), Mr. Thirawat Chuthong (PhD Student), Mr. Matas Manawakul (Research Engineer), Ms. Natchaya Sricom (Research Engineer), Mr. Nasree Hayeesamaae (Master’s Student), Mr. Pavaris Asawakijtananont (Master’s Student), Ms. Boonyaporn Preechasuth (Research Intern), and Ms. Disthorn Suttawet (Research Intern) from the Bio-inspired Robotics Lab delivered an engaging presentation introducing the laboratory’s ongoing research and innovations inspired by nature.
The students were introduced to several bio-inspired robotic platforms, including the gecko robot, stick insect robot, quadruped robot, and silkmoth robot, highlighting how principles observed in biological systems can inspire the development of innovative robotic technologies.
Moreover, our members introduced the research facilities available in the laboratory, including motion capture cameras for accurately tracking and analyzing robot movements, as well as a treadmill system designed to support exoskeleton research. These facilities enable precise measurement and analysis of locomotion dynamics, supporting both robotic research and human–robot interaction experiments.
The visit offered the students an inspiring opportunity to learn about cutting-edge robotics research, explore how nature can inspire technological innovation, and experience the research environment of the Bio-inspired Robotics Lab.
