AI Camp 2025: Exploring Physical AI and Legged Robot Simulation at IST

Rayong, Thailand – The AI Academy Camp 2025, a joint initiative by Kamnoetvidya Science Academy School (KVIS) and Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), brought together students eager to explore the latest trends in artificial intelligence and robotics. Held at IST, this year’s camp featured three interactive stations, offering hands-on experiences in coding, microcontrollers, physical AI, and bio-inspired robotics.

KVIS led an engaging session on coding and microcontrollers, allowing students to develop fundamental programming skills and gain practical experience in embedded systems. Meanwhile, IST introduced two innovative stations, focusing on the emerging field of Physical AI and the simulation of legged robots.

At the Physical AI station, students delved into the latest advancements in AI-driven robotics. They explored how soft robotics is shaping the future and had the opportunity to design and test their own soft grippers. Through practical exercises, students experimented with gripping multi-shaped objects, gaining insights into the adaptability and versatility of soft robotic systems.

The Legged Robot Simulation station showcased bio-inspired robotics, highlighting the intricate mechanics of legged locomotion. Students were challenged to control a simulated stick insect robot by coding various gait patterns and observing the results in real-time. This hands-on experience provided a deeper understanding of robotic movement inspired by nature.

AI Camp 2025 at IST provided a dynamic environment for students to engage with cutting-edge AI and robotics concepts. By combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experimentation, the camp continues to foster curiosity and innovation among young minds, shaping the next generation of AI pioneers.
