On 22 Nov 2024 – The Robotics Lab at Pilot Plant (N3), under the School of Information Science and Technology (IST), Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC), had the honor of hosting a visit by a delegation from the Department of Mineral Fuels (DMF), Ministry of Energy, accompanied by representatives from PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP).
This visit provided an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaboration in advancing robotics technology for the energy sector. The delegation was warmly welcomed by IST faculty members, led by Prof. Dr. Poramate Manoonpong, Director of IST and Head of BRAIN Lab, along with his dedicated team, including:

- Mr. Kanut Tarapongnivat (Research Engineer),
- Mr. Worameth Nantareekurn (Research Engineer),
During the visit, the team demonstrated FreeLander Robot and HERO Robot : the Advanced Hybrid Legged-Wheeled Robot for Vessel Inspection, designed specifically for petroleum and gas vessel inspection. This cutting-edge teleoperation robot aims to minimize risks to human workers in hazardous environments, showcasing its potential to revolutionize industrial safety and efficiency in the energy sector.
